As we head into Spring Break, I am writing to express my gratitude for your support during this unprecedented year.
On Thursday, February 4, 2021, the Ministry of Education introduced enhanced safety measures to strengthen the health and safety plans in K-12 schools.
To ensure schools are ready to welcome students into classrooms Sept. 8-11, 2020,
there will be a gradual restart to allow extra time to orient students and staff on the new
health and safety measures in place.

What is the new coronavirus?
The new coronavirus is a virus (type of germ) that causes lung infections in people. The disease is called COVID-19.
This is the first time this exact coronavirus has caused illness in people, but doctors and scientists know of other coronaviruses.
This week all school districts in the province received guidance from the Provincial Health Officer and the BC Centre for Disease Control regarding measures for preventing and controlling respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, in schools and childcare facilities.
The Board of Education would like to invite all parents, staff and community members to a presentation and conversation regarding planning for next school year on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
March 10, 2020 – 6 p.m. Board of Education Meeting at the School Board Office, Grand Forks
This survey asks about early learning and child care arrangements. Early learning and child care arrangements is defined as any formal care for children up to the age of 12 years old by someone other than the parent or guardian. This could include care in child care facilities, in-home care by a relative or non-relative as well as out of school child care, but does not include occasional babysitting for recreational or social events or kindergarten.
This confidential survey should not take more than 15 minutes to complete and will be open until January 17, 2020 (4pm).
Parents and guardians will be expected to provide public health units with immunization records for students enrolled in the provincial school system.
